About
In 2004, the dream of 3D printing turned into reality for Rapid 3D when they imported their first 3D printer, a ZPrinter 310.
Founded by a family of engineers, including Pauline Bullock, David Bullock, and Bryan Bullock, the company started as a part-time venture.
Initially offering 3D printing bureau services, they later became official distributors for 3D Systems in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa in 2005.
Rapid 3D’s focus on technical solutions and its partnership with Kemtek Imaging Systems allowed it to represent and support various 3D printing technologies.
In 2014, Rapid 3D JV (PTY) Ltd was created as a subsidiary of Kemtek, further expanding its offerings.
They also operate Akhani 3D, specialising in low-volume, complex part manufacturing to overcome supply chain delays.
