Gian Paolo Bassi

Senior Vice President: Mainstream Innovation and Customer Role Experience

Gian Paolo Bassi is Senior Vice President of Mainstream Innovation & Customer Role Experience at Dassault Systèmes, where he drives the evolution of SOLIDWORKS’ desktop and cloud product strategies in close collaboration with its global user community.

With over 25 years of leadership in the 3D, CAD and PLM industries, he joined Dassault Systèmes in 2011 and, as CEO of SOLIDWORKS, guided the brand through major advances in both desktop and cloud applications before stepping into his current SVP role.

Prior to Dassault Systèmes, Gian Paolo founded and served as CTO of RIWEBB, pioneering automation technologies for mechanical and architectural design, and earlier was Vice President and CTO at ImpactXoft—where he co‑invented three patents in functional modeling—and held R&D roles at Computervision and think3.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bologna.
